CPU Parts International
Ripoff, no product shipped Internet

It is already late that I tell my story by this time. I just didn't think the company was a fraud before. And as I haven't been in USA for a long time, I didn't not know what to do at the first time. But when I saw John's story with CPU Parts on the rip-off website this morning, I couldn't keep silence any more. It's very much alike my story with this company, only my situation is even worse. May other people take a lesson from our unpleasing experiences.

I ordered a laptop from the website of CPU Parts International on March 28 for $999. The website looks good and somewhat professional, yet they don't have a phone number or address on it.

The payment was charged to my credit card. The computer was soppused to be shipped on April 17.By now the fact is CPU Parts took my money but the computer never showed up.

On April 14 I found I couldn't track my order through their website, so I sent an email inquiring the problem and was told they were "manually updating the tracking database" and I could log into my account and see the status of my order in 30 minutes. But the problem was never fixed and I never saw my order status again. Their explaination was "it might have been deleted by accident"!! But they promised my order was OK.

If that wasn't ridiculous enough, the following story will show you what a company it is.

When I found the computer was not shipped on due date, I sent another email (April 25) and was told the computer will be sent out in that week. When it again wan't shipped in that week, I send them email again. This time I was told by CPU Parts that my credit card was inclined. I felt strange, so I checked with my bank and made sure my credit card was always OK, that what they said was not true. I feedback this information, then they replid that my "CC was approved, but it is placed on hold" becuase the address I gave them did not match the address on my CC! And that reply was on May 4 because they always said they need to check with certain department in their company and delay their reply.

It was true by that time I newly moved and changed my address. So I went to my bank again and confirmed all the information I had given the company were correct. Furthermore, the bank showed me the record of CPU Parts taking the $999 on March 30! So CPU Parts had the money and was lying to me.

Yet, frauds always try to make things look like normal until they feel they can have the money safely. Now I understand that they're giving excuses to keep me waiting until it exceeded the 60 days' charge dispute time limit guaranteed by VISA. Because within 60 days from the payment date I can dispute the charge, but over 60 days VISA can't guarantee my money back.

So in an email dated May 12, they appoligized and I trusted them again. On May 13 they asked me to update my "member profile" and address so they can ship the computer to me. I did it right away. But after that there was no responses or computer again. I had to email them again. Only by Jun 6, they replied if I still want the computer they could shipped it within 7 days, or they could give me a refund. So I waited for another 7 days.

Now I really hope I didn't give my trust to these unworthy people. That was really a stupid thing I did. When I got no responses nor computer after 7 days, I wrote to ask for a refund. But then I can't get any responses. Again and again I sent emails to them, but no responses at all.

As mentioned in John's story, don't trust a company like CPU Parts International and don't do any bussiness with them. I have been so troubled and soured and have wasted so much time and efforts on it.

I've made a complaint with my local Consumer Complains Office and a claim to my VISA credit card company. Now I'm still intending to pursue my loss. With my un-fluent English, it's somewhat difficult. I'll appreciate if you know anything about this or have any suggestion on what should I do by now.

Also I'd like to suggest people check carefully the company's reputation and credit rating before making any order with an unfamiliar company.
