I fortunately checked my credit card which I haven't used in about a year and surprise, surprise what should I find but a billing for $79.99 from Aol Credit Alert, which I had canceled a year ago. I decided to call the company to get this straightened out, but the lady I spoke with (I unfortunately didn't get her name) kept trying to give me a whole lot of who shot John instead of helping me. She was trying to get me to "stay" with Aol Credit Alert since ID fraud is so prevelant as I was trying to get across to her that I had cancelled a year ago and I wanted nothing more to do with them.
Finally, she understood that I wanted my account credited with the amount they withdrew, which she then told me that I could not get a refund for a service used. Well, I did not want that service and I want my money back.
Fortunately, I found this web site and I intend to see this through until I am repaid. I will never trust Aol and neither should anyone else!
