Www.UniversityDecisions.com as an operating entity under www.VergoInteractive.com began using our online materials in 2010 as a lead generator to their own sites doing marketing for many colleges like the University of Phoenix. Debbie Usury (now Debbie Fiorentino) who is the President of both companies, negotiated the deal and signed the contract and license agreement for the materials they would offer on their website as a give away to prospective students.
After many times failing to submit payment, we negotiated a lower rate with them ONLY to get them to pay past due invoices. We believed Debbie and that usage was less than they expected so we were happy to work with them. She confirmed the company would stay on top of payments and appreciated the lower pricing. However, nothing changed, in fact it got worse. We are not 12 months behind on payments and they continue to offer our products and services as a prominant feature on their website.
After being notified many times. Debbie finally said "I don't even know if we are still using it." However, it is right on their MAIN home page and it is clearly visible to anyone coming to the site. Come on Debbie, as President of your company you never look at your own home page when you are an online company???
Now www.UniversityDecisions.com and www.VergoInteractive.com will not pay invoices or return phone calls or emails. We are going to have to take expensive legal measures because it is not only about unpaid license fees but also the fact they still use our materials to get people into their site.
They are marketing for many reputable colleges and universities. I wonder if these clients know how they are getting people into the site?
We believe in Debbie and the integrity of the companies she represented and headed up. When I saw the other report about her and her companies on Usa Consumer Complaints.com I could not bbelieve it. It was our exact story. When you start seeing a repeated pattern red flags go up all over. I hope this keeps someone else from being in the same situation we now find ourselves.
