A short story of INCREDIBLE INCOMPETENCE:
Way back when in November we sent the simplest of letters (a SECOND time) to a local area office of Comcast Cable requesting quite simply two excruciatingly simple things: a $10 credit to our account for an incorrect balance statement and a re-adjustment of our monthly statement billing since the service package we ordered was consistently being overcharged.
Oh, and we also made the equally simple request for a simple WRITTEN resolution to our simple complaint in keeping with the incapable cable company's own simple regulation:
"9. CUSTOMER COMPLAINT PROCEDURES If you have any complaint regarding the Service, including billing service..., you should contact us... Or in WRITING (caps added) to inform us."—Comcast "Important Notices To Our Customers, " Revised 9/03.
When no written reply from Comcast Cable was forthcoming by year's end we contacted the local "franchise authority, " likewise in keeping with procedural regulations, requesting some simple assistance. That was in early February when a City Manager assistant, pledging to "do (her) best" to resolve the complaint to our satisfaction, disclaimed her "ability to force Comcast... into a specific resolution to (our) problem."
Here it is almost mid-year and there's been absolutely no follow-up whatever from either the cable company or the franchise authority to resolve the simplest of simple complaints.
In the meantime, Comcast Cable can afford to broadcast those gratuitous promotions featuring cyclist Lance Armstrong about going that extra mile to prove themselves worthy of earning customer loyalty and respect, while INCREDIBLY, being too incompetent and incapable of investing in a typewriter, some paper and breaking down and overexerting their poor little overworked wrists to WRITE A FRICKIN' LETTER!
As Ripley himself would put it quite incredibly: BELIEVE IT, OR NOT!!!
