I hired Logo Dog after having a conversation with the owner
of the company, Steve Carlson of Carlson Branding. Steve boasted of his numerous designers and
extensive design portfolio, and on the phone promised wed love his logos and
be very happy.
Talk about a classic bait and switch. The logos on his website were not made by
Steve and his non-existing staff. The
logos I received were a far cry from the professional logos he lists on his
website, in fact all I received were text logos that could be made with
Microsoft Word! Variations consisted of
my product name with different shapes around it, displaying zero graphic design
whatsoever. Once again, a complete bait
and switch from what is shown in the portfolio on LogoDog.com.
When I brought this up I got nothing but negative remarks and a reference to
his refund policy, stating I was on the hook for what he sent and would return
a small portion of the money for his effort.
Effort? Open up Microsoft Word,
jot down your company name and select different fonts and thats what he sent
me. Oh, one or two had some dated clip
art next to them!
Steve Carlson of Logo Dog had stated that I didnt give him
enough information to make a nice logo.
Say what? I filled out his
extensive form which asked me to identify not only competition, but five logos
I liked, etc. Not one of them was a piece of text, like what Steve Carlson of
Logo Dog sent me.
Of course, no refund was coming and Steve made it clear to
me he was going to rip me off. He did
not return or answer phone calls or emails, none of which were in bad demeanor,
instead he seems happy just making a quick $500 and calling it a day. What the heck, right?
I dug deeper Steve works out of a run down farm-looking house
in rural Minnesota. So, when he claims
hes in meetings keep in mind there is no commerce close to his
dwelling! You can look it up on Google
Maps.
Ive worked with 100, s, probably closer to 1,000
outsourced web, IT, design, and development companies. Never in my life have I felt compelled to
bring public light to a situation and never have I been ripped off so bad. Avoid the Logo Dog Rip off and Steve Carlson
of Carlson Branding.
