Voice mail problems - Triple Play

The xfinity mobile concept is great. Many features like the DVR manager, digital box control and guide work super.

That’s the end of it though. The visual voice mail is slow and when it fails Comcast does not care! I was directly told by their customer service reps (term used loosely) the following things and I quote:

“we do not give credit for the service when it fails because its free”

Trust me, I have seen my bill, nothing from Comcast is free!

“The iPhone app is for recreational purposes only”

So don’t rely on it because they don’t see it as a part of the service.

“if you need business features for your home office you should subscribe to our business services”

I don’t need additional services. I need the services I have and was lead to expect to work when I was sold the service to actually work reliably.

“well sir, your expectations are too high”

Finally something the Comcast rep and I could agree on.!

Comcast is an accidental phone company. I have always wondered if they would get that voice service is critical an unlike cable service it matters when features don’t work. I purchased Comcast voice under the expectation that all of the features they advertised are part of the service and would be supported. I was dead wrong.

Looking at vonage, skype and other alternatives to dump Comcast.

ITunes needs to move this app from Productivity to “entertainment”. Not my opinion, that’s Comcast’s position.
