Until proven otherwise, I believe bidnox. Comis a fraudulent penny auction site. Over the weekend of December 19, I boughtseveral bid packages from bidnox.com. I did "win" several items: fourbidpacks totaling 950 bids, three iPod touches, one Wii system, and anAmazon.com gift card. I have yet to receive any of them. When I started looking at the auction moreclosely, it seems fairly obvious that the bidding is by "bot" (automated and computer generated). The auctions involve the same pairs ofnames, the bids are always placed at the same time on the ticker countdown, andauctions end at the same price (or a small range of prices) within their type. I also was completely shut out of one auctionat the last minute when I was 200 bids ($200 into it).in this auction, itseemed to be a shill bidder rather than a bot, as happened with anotherauction for a 300 bid pack. I have emailed the auction site, which deniesbot bidders, and I'm awaiting delivery or products, which I don't expect toget. On the advice of a consumer group, pennyauctionwatch.com, I expect to filecomplaints with the FTC, and the Attorney Generals of New York (where the siteis incorporated) and in Ohio (where I live). I received one two emails from Jay atbidnox, the text of the last one below. There is also a thread about the siteon www.pennyauctionwatch.com. Forbor, who filed a complaint at usacomplaints.com, states that bidnox refunded hismoney, and, further, that bidnox asked him to remove the names of YitzchakVrahimy and Aryeh Simkin (who receives the paypal payments) because they are upset. Forbor also states that, in an email, Joe from bidnox said they are refundingeveryones bids. I currently have disputes on file withAmerican Express and PayPal. The site is registered to:
