CORA WORKS - Irene Morris Sambur
Promised me a job that I can do at home. Stealing from tax payers/our government and not paying us every wk like promised in contract we signed

I worked for the company CORA (Creating Opportunities by Recognizing Abilities) for disabled people. This company makes disabled people and veterans think they are going to be working. We were told by our Vocational Rehab that we were going to be trained so we can get employment. It's not true at all, it's a scam. I went thru the basic training, then was put on a project for 2 days then put on furlough for over 2 wks, then put on another project for 1 wk then put on furlough again. I was on furlough until I resigned from the company because of not receiving any paychecks and not being told why we are on furlough for so long. This company was suppose to be so established and recognized by our President, so the CEO stated, but I find that the company is a fraud. Some of us were on furlough longer then others.

I received only (2) 1 hr paychecks from the time I started basic training in June that were only $6.05 each. The next paycheck I received was in Nov and it was just a partial for $16.15. There were several wks of paychecks skipped (haven't been paid for) to get this partial paycheck. We received an email from IMS stating that we were to start getting paid wkly in Nov and I have only received that partial paycheck so far and we are almost at the end of Dec.

My state paid $3,500.00 for this company to train me and get me a job. My state was told at 1st they only had to pay $1,750.00 until my 90 days were up. They sent the $1,750.00 to CORA in New Jersey. Then way before my 90 days were up someone from CORA called my state and told them that they needed to send the other $1,750.00 but not to send it to their account in New Jersey. They were to send it to a bank in San Fransisco CA called (Capital Credit Incorporated). I don't know why my state sent them the full amount and especially to another state across the country.

I thought I was getting my independence back getting a job with this company. The 1st wk of basic training should have told me the whole thing up front, but IMS makes everything sound so good until you've heard the same thing over and over again like a broken record. The 1st webinar I joined, I actually got scared because of IMS's tone talking about ex employees causing the company trouble. I found out that it wasn't the ex employees, it was the ex employees wanting their pay that was owed to them. I hope no one has to go thru what all the CORA survivors have and are still going thru. It scared you about trying another company for fear that your going to get let down again.
