Selective Dating/great Expectations
Sally.interviewer, hard sell, for two hours to vulnerable widow of one year. Would not state price until last 10 minutes. After signing contract, said "you don't think we're going to do the work for you"?

My complaint is against Selective Dating/Great Expectations of Bonita Springs, FL. On 7-30-09 I was interviewed (hard sell) for two hours by Sally (would not give her last name) where I was asked my life history since becoming a widow 6/08. Was feeling particularly vulernable as she kept repeating "you deserve this - we promise to find you a dance partner (which is my choice of life sport) throughout the interview. No price was stated even though I asked her many times. Till the last 10 minutes.in this vulnerable state I signed the contract and handed over my credit card. Only then did Sally return my profile list and said "you don't expect US to do the work do you?". This is EXACTLY how the FREE dating websites work.
On the way home I asked myself "what did I do?"... Called their office immediately (7/30) & 4 times the next day (7/31).. No answer; left messages. Filed a "dispute" with Discover. Finally, on Monday called their 2nd number, again & told Courtney I am cancelling... Do not have enough money to cover $4,120. For dating. Sally came to the phone and told me to send a letter. Which I did, that very day (not certified); Discover credited my acct; felt it was all taken care of till I received multiple copies of the contract from Discover that SD/GE had sent them. Discover put the charge back on my next statement and I was forced to pay or suffer added interest.
On 10/5 contacted Selective Dating and put the account on Freeze/Hold as I was too devastated to have to handle this... And in case I am "stuck" with it, I wanted time to prepare. They said to send the request to their email address and returned a reply Freezing it. I have contacted my attorney, FL Senior Helpline, Call For Action @ Wink News, Attorney General's office, Seniors VS Crime... Am now preparing to take them to Small Claims Court. I want everyone in this community to be aware of this scam... As I am told, by a member, their members are very few. Besides, they surely did not screen me before charging my credit card the minute I left their office. When did they have time to screen?
