LA Casting, Casting Networks
Incredibly Rude!

I am a working actor in Los Angeles, and use a handful of casting networks and an agent to secure auditions. I recently experienced terrible customer service from at least three individuals from LA Casting. An office manager was supposed to call me today, but it is almost 5 pm, and big surprise, no call.

Basically, the problem was email-related (I was not receiving audition notices and I had missed an audition) and instead of helping me solve the problem (still not solved), they told me I was being unreasonable, that the email Alerts I had always received were just a courtesy, and that I should drop my email provider and get a gMail account! And then I was hung upon.

The individual I was dealing with then purposely 'misunderstood' explicit instructions that were gone over on the phone and in two email messages, and changed my email back to a former/not used email address. It's a little technical to go into the back and forth, but I was jerked around big time. I was constantly 'talked over' and told by their employee and manager that they were 'Number One'. I'm laughing about it now, but can you imagine?

I have gone a little public about my experience, and have received some private and some public support for the way I was treated. There is not much to do, except report them and see what happens. And, re: previous complaints, yes, they do screw you a bit in the money dept, plus, they flood their site with student films and do not offer the choice to opt out of those notices. Other than that, it is a clean, well-put together site (although obvs not put together by their office staff, who did not even know what a 'header' was, lol).

We are kind of stuck with them for now. The main baddies are named Taylor and Tommy.

I do not expect any kind of apology from this company. But, crazier things have happened!
