Signed up for Quest Bundled internet and phone service in Shelton, WA. The people I dealt with were who knows where, not local I can assure you. When I called they said they I would be connected in 3 to 5 business days starting on March 3rd and that I would receive a DSL modem in the mail by Friday. Friday comes and no modem. I called quest and was put one hold for hours, and talked to people I couldn't understand on terrible connections. Talked to at least 5 different people who assured me the modem would be there the next day. Finally get to about the 11th of March and I called customer service back. They tell me no modem was or has ever been ordered or shipped to me. I was so pissed I said that's it I want my service canceled now I don't even want to talk about it anymore. I get offer after offer from this person to not stop my service. I said not to free modem, no to free connection for 6 months, and everything else the offered me for my bad experiance. Also found out that I was never told that I had a home phone number and that service was established to my home without my knowledge. I said no one ever told me and I obvioulsly never made any calls with it. Got a confirmation number that I disconnected service and that I wouldn't be charged anything for my wonderful experiance.
On the 28th of March I got a call from a Collection Agencey that told me I owed Quest 98.00 and that if I didn't take care of it right away I would be reported to one of the big three credit reporting agencies for bad credit. I said what the hell are you talking about. I said do you have the records stating when I got service with quest and when my bill became delinquent. The looked it up and said yes you started quest services on March 3rd. I said yes. What is today's date. She said March 29th. I said think about it. How could I be delinquent after only 25 days of new service, not to mention I canceled my service on March 11th and they stated I owed no money. She said that doesn't sound right. I said NO SHIT! She said well it doesn't matter we have a report that your account is delinquent and there's nothing we can do but proceed with collection until you get this resolved. I said SO I'm still going to have to pay you 98.00 she said yes unless you want it reported on your credit. I said you can go to hell. I got on the phone with another quest CS employee and I cussed them until I was out of breath.
Got all kinds of confirmation numbers that showed me credit was cleared and bill was cleared and the even sent me a 58.00 refund eventhough I never paid them anything. Still don't know how that happened. Eventhough it all worked out, it was still a harrowing experiance and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Watch out of Quest.
