Purchased an Ipod recovery software from Datadoctor that does not work on Ipods accidentally synchronised with the wrong library. Unfortunately their free trial version does not provide a help function so you can not tell its capabilities until the software is purchased and downloaded.
Their site allows forrefund requests which I filed, but they keep sending emails asking you to run through the software recovery steps again, (in some cases repeating what they asked you to do earlier - despite having sent a response that it does not work) asking you what the operating system is etc. None of their suggestion work because (after surfing the web more I learnt) that data recovery for Ipod is not possible because its storage device does not leave an image. Which is why Apple do not offer it either.
But at $82 this is a real rip off as they mislead desperate people such as myself when I lost my music into thinking it can be recovered.
