Dear usacomplaints.com.

Yesterday, I received a letter from the alledged "International Library of Poetry". I had entered a poem, while playing 'treeloot' at www.treeloot.com (an internet place where you can click a tree and win prizes.) It seems that the socalled "International Library of Poetry" at poetry.com, has made a deal with this firm, sponsoring them, so that once in a while you play treeloot, a window will pop up asking you to submit a poem to this site. The mail I received, stated that I was a semifinalist participant. I carefully read the letter, and being quite sceptical by nature regarding 'freebies' also knowing that my submitted poem was meant as more of a joke on the poetry.com, I decided to first analyze the letter for strange incoherent postulations, and then to research the internet to see if the company had credibility and if other people have had experiences with them, good or bad. I found two, I believe serious strange postulations in the letter. The first was the statement that I was a semifinalist, and that I subsequently was to be entered into the finals in august. How on earth can one be a semifinalist contestant and then enter directly into the finals without competing first in the semifinals? That didn't make sense to me. -

The next thing was that they promised to include me in an anthology, and they wrote the following about it ".. We also wish to publish your poem in what promises to be one of the most highly sought after collections of poetry we have ever published..." -

How on earth can an anthology be popular and sought after before it is published, people not knowing anything about the quality of the poetry involved? This made my alarmbells ring seriously, so then I decided to go to stage two, researching the internet. -
Almost immediately I found some pages about poetry.com - not at all very flattering pages. I began reading how people have been scammed and jammed by the thousands into this scheme of poetry contests. At last I found you, and read your article on the scam. Thanks for saving me the trouble of spending my money and efforts on a company offering publication after taking my money by the plenty. - You actually saved me right in time, because I haven't mailed anything to poetry.com yet. Thanks.

Another thing, about scam companies. - I played treeloot at www.treeloot.com for about 3-4 hours some month ago, and won 2600 'bananabucks'. Then I could choose some prizes. - Being a doll of a monkey set at 2000 'bananadollars/bucks' and a 'treeloot watch' at 2500 'bananabucks'. They promize to send me the watch by mail in 60-90 days. - It's been approximately 30 days soon. - If I do not receive the watch in the next 60 days, could I then do something to let others know not to spend their time on the site, if it's just a scam like the rest?

I would be very willing to help others out, because there's nothing worse than being scammed into losing ones money and spirits over untrustworthy companies.

Yours sincerely,
Stefano Freiesleben Sias,
