I was a Badoo user for several months this year.
At first I liked the site, it was clean, no frills, just a useful method of posting pics and thoughts.
But on a few occasions, I had the need to write and ask things, such as "how do I receive a gift" in reference to a feature listed in the page that suggested that I might be a recipient of giver of "gifts".
The Badoo team did not respond. "Oh well" I thought and moved on.
After awhile, I becam tired of the kind of "meat market" atmosphere and decided to eliminate my page. No problem, it was simple, just a few clicks.
But within a few day, in my email I received a message that I had a "new message in Badoo" which was a surprise. I checked and lo and behold, there was my page just as if I had never deleted it. Once again I took the steps to delete my account and confirmed that it was gone... And the same thing occurred. Within a few days, my pag was back, without my having asked for that to happen...
I repeated this once again with the same results. Apparently, Badoo does not let its users decide when they can delete their accounts.
I went along and kept using the page anyway... Big deal, right?
But the ere were other occasions on which I wrote to ask them for help and NOT ONCE did I ever receive a response.
Recently, (November) I logged in one morning to find that the site had been redesigned. Gone were some features I had found useful. So I wrote and politely asked them what had happened, and could they please replace the missing features. I wrote several times on more than one topic. THEY NEVE replied.
Finally, one day I wrote a sarcastic, anry, frustrated note, explaiining that the had not ever replied and that I felt ingored.
They did not reply.
I subsequently lost patience and prceeded to "flame" their contact form... Maybe 5 or six times, including using profanity.
Well GUESS WHAT? That WORKED! I finally recieved a reply. A machine-generated form letter which included cc's of ONLY my angry messages arrived. The message stated in Kafka-esque fashion that my opinions were valued and blah blah blah...
So I wrote back another angry note... And...
They canceled my account without notice.
I wrote to ask why, I actually wrote a critical albeit angry note, but not profane... And of course... No reply. Then I wrote an insulting note and PRESTO! They wrote me this morning a one line reply: "Your page has been eliminated."
Well, I just think the management of Badoo are jerks. They should drop the "oo" and just call their endeavor "BAD."
