Sold defective computer, Had to take to Best Buy to get hard drive replaced, Must wait 2 wks for Acer to ship boot disks

Bought an Acer Aspire 5735 for my daughter for Christmas. Opened it up Christmas Eve to get it set up, just to find out it has a bad hard drive. Spent several hours on hold and on the phone with Acer tech support just to be told to take it to Best Buy to have them fix it. Best Buy could replace the hard drive, but they can't get the recovery disks to load all of the necessary software. These must be ordered from Acer and I was told it could be up to two weeks before we get them. It was nice having to explain to my daughter why Santa gave her a broken laptop and why it will be two weeks before she can use it. No one at Acer seemed to care, nor could they explain to me why it takes two weeks for the company that manufactured the computer to produce the recovery disks. Their customer service is the worse I have ever dealt with and their supervisors and managers don't take calls! Called the corproate office in CA just to find out they are closed until Janaury 5th. This is probably because they knew the volume of angry people they would encounter who purchase one of their crappy products for Christmas. Don't waste your time or money on an Acer product. Understand they purchased Gateway, so you may want to stay away from them also.
