Alyon Technologies has a pretty slick little (censored) going on.
You view an e-mail that has the words "no CC needed" in the subject line, only to discover it's for a porn site (big words instruct you to "click here.")
You immediately delete the e-mail in disgust, but too late - by opening the e-mail you have initialized the installation of a virus-type program to your computer that will hack your browser, your registry, your Internet dialer, and more.
Upon returning to your desktop you discover the flashing words "new software installed" on your tool bar;
Click on those words, and a box pops up asking you to confirm that you are 18 and responsible for the phone bill at your house.
If you close this window or choose either the "accept" or "decline" buttons, your Internet connection (if active) will be disconnected and a phone number in New Jersey will be dialed.
You may or may not see one or more pop-up windows.
In two weeks YOU WILL RECEIVE A PHONE BILL for $4.99 per minute for access to an adult site.
Aren't viruses illegal to perpetuate through e-mail?
Somebody has got to bust the skulls of these slick trickers and SHUT THEM DOWN FOREVER.
View the other e-mails on these topics and begin contacting your attorney general and anyone else you have time to report this to.
Send a certified, return receipt requested dispute of the charges.
And tell anyone you know TO REPORT THIS FRAUDULENT (censored) in this space so we can get the attention of government officials and law enforcement ASAP.
