Individuals called my office on 11/06, saying that I owed them $698.00 for advertising in the BlueYellowBook.com website for the last year and that I could renew or disconnect my subscription today. They said that I still had 1 more year of advertising and that they always bill their customers midway through their agreements. I never made a agreement with them or signed a single piece of paper. I went to their website to look up my add and it was nothing that they or anybody could have gotten off of the real yellowpages. They said they would send me a bill, which I will not pay.
I checked the area code from the caller I.D., and it came up to be from Niagra Falls, New York. I then did a reverse lookup on his phone number and it cameup to be from a man named: Octavius Smyth of Niagra Falls, NY. He has previously lived in Clementon and Willingboro New Jersey. I then tried to call his phone number back, and within a few short hours his number was disconnected.
My next intention is to contact the New York Attorney Generals Office in Buffalo, NY at 716-853-8404. I hope information helps somebody out there that is being scammed by these lazy morons.
