Rated The Grant University as a top pick and said that it was 100% free. It wasn't. They debited my bank account for $69.95 without my permission or knowledge

I was referred to The Grant University by the following web site: http://www.grants-reviewed.org/1/
which contained the following review:
Over the last 2 years we have reviewed 47 government grant websites. We purchased their systems and conducted extensive background checks on each company. Out of the 47 government grant sites only 4 were even worthwhile! These are companies that send you information for free, all we had to pay were shipping costs.

Our top pick is The Grant University which is 100% free all you have to cover is the shipping costs ($1.98). This was our #1 pick because they issued out grants to their members on a daily basis & they included 24/7 live support to assist you in getting your grant money.

By clicking "Get My Money", I am ordering The Grant University Quick Start CD and trial membership for $ 1.98 for shipping and handling. After the seven day trial I will be charged sixty-nine ninety-five a month thereafter if I do not cancel.

This final warning, which in itself is deceptive, does not appear on the form which I filled out.

I did all of this on October 4. It was only on October 14 that I discovered that $69.95 was debited from my bank account. Upon calling the toll free number I was informed that the seven day trial period (of which I was unaware) had expired and that I could not get my money back since this was due to MY negligence. I asked to speak to the supervisor of the person to whom I was speaking and was informed that the supervisor was not in and that I would have to call back.

I called back three more times later and each time (after waiting quite some time to talk to a live person) when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was asked to give my name after which I heard some minutes of silence before hearing a dial tone, therefore I assume that I was cut off or the person just hung up on me. The fourth time I called back I informed the person to whom I was speaking that I had been given the runaround on the three previous calls and that I wanted to speak to her supervisor.

This time I was again given the runaround but at least she assured me that she would not hang up on me she took my name and accessed my account and gave me the same information as the first person to whom I had talked i.E. That I would not be able to get my money back. At this point I referred to the following statement:
" The Grant University's entire liability, and your exclusive remedy, shall be a prorated refund of the monthly subscription price paid. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable."

Found at this web address: http://www.thegrantuniversity.com/policy.html
which I reached by clicking on "Return Policy" at this web address: http://www.thegrantuniversity.com/
At this point she said that she would give me a prorated refund for which she gave me a confirmation number and said that it would take about three days for the money to be back in my checking account.

At this point I am only out $7.00, as opposed to $69.95 or more which many others have lost. Still I am considering further action, probably through the Better Business Bureau, to get that money back, too. I seem to have been very fortunate so far (if the money really is returned in three days) and I hope that my experience and actions will help others to regain what has been wrongfully taken from them.
