I answered what looked to be a legitimate offering on the Hotjobs Yahoo job board recently. The position listed a teaching opportunity at a local private school. The name of the school was not disclosed. I thought well, that's not too strange. So, I pursued this, was brought to another site to create a login. I noticed at the bottom of the page an "opt out" option to not receive further emails. So, I did just that. The following day, I received an email stating that my information looked good and they needed addtional questions answered to send to the employer. They asked for 3 references.
I felt uncomfortable about this so early in the process so, I did not put the personal phone numbers of these people and used emails that I knew they did not use frequently. However, since providing this information, for some reason I have been unable to access Google either through a wireless or ethernet connection nor have I been able to get on my college website that I am supposed to be taking an on line course with.
My daughter, who has a gmail account, Google, (which I listed her email address), also has not been able to get on Google or access any of her emails, (which is extremely important for her to do). My concern is that this fraudulent company, "Career Network, Inc" is somehow blocking this access and those emails that I listed. My other concern is that they will try to sign me up for services etc. That I'm not signing up for. AND, they have the information from my resume.
