I received a letter from stamps.com stating that their attempts to charge my cc for my "monthly service fees" were unsuccessful. They requested I pay online or send them by mail my cc details or a check or MO "to ensure that my service is uninterrupted".
I have NEVER heard of stamps.com prior to receiving this letter, NEVER engaged in any business transaction with them, NEVER used their services.
They typed my address with mistakes, and included a made up but plausible account username which consisted of my first and last names and the numeral 0. However, my last name in the username was mistyped too.
My first name last name combination is rare enough that I am probably the only person in the world with it, and it cannot therefore be a case of mistaken identity, especially as most of my street address was correct, and the letter did arrive.
I will not pay them a cent and have not lost any money, but I want to warn people about their fraudulent bill practice.
The above address is printed on their envelope, but the address on the bill is: Stamps.com Dept 0398 POBox 120398 Dallas TX 7512-0398
