HughesNet is a total Rip Off! $350 bucks to get service installed and turned on at your home. No, plug and play with this company. You have to pay nearly $100 a month service because they make you buy all the equipment. Then when your internet goes down they take several days to get it back up. If you call and ask for a repair guy to come out they really get you!!!
Hughes net has no service guys! They use a third party to repair their system! So, if you are willing to wait several days with no service they might come out and fix your problem, but if you request a tech to come out and fix you fast they will charge you $125! I told customer service that I would only pay the $125 service fee if the problem was in my house and not their fault. The customer service rep said ok then you are willing to pay the $125 for a rep to come out. I said yes, if the problem is on my end and not your fault. She said ok, so you are willing to pay the $125. I said yes as long as you credit me back if the problem is not my fault. She asked again so you are going to ok the $125! I said, I guess I have to if I want my internet to work ever again. She said ok then I will schedule a tech out. Please note they will never credit your account!!! They always charge for repairs. Learn from me! Get someone else to service your family. HughesNet is a total rip off! If you are not willing to wait serveral day you will have to pay the $125 repair cost. After a two hour phone call to customer service and a Hughesnet Manager say, Sorry - You SAid it was ok to Bill you!" I know now that if you are down they will bill you to get back up. If you cancel service you will have to pay out the balance of your contract! I will never renew my contract with this company - NEVER!!! This company has the worst customer service.
