Blackmail, held forum hostage until getting what they wanted

InvisionI.com is a thug company. I had a forum hosted with them starting late last year and in that time they threatened to delete my board many times and forced me to pay for services I didn't want.

They presented me with a "hacker protection" package, which I said I was interested in purchasing. I didn't have enough in my Paypal to make payment, so I told them in about a week I'd let them know.

InvisionI took it upon themselves to start the service without my knowledge. It was after this I learned the "hacker protection" actually provided no additional security for my forum. I informed InvisionI that I was not interested in the service after all.

InvisionI refused to accept my denial of this service and demanded payment. When I argued that, as a customer, I'm entitled to change my mind prior to making payment and that I never told them to start it without receiving payment, they suspended the forum.invisionI held the forum hostage and blackmailed me into paying them $232. If I refused they would delete the forum.

I paid their ransom and had the forum returned to my control. Hours later the forum went offline. It took two support messages to get them to tell me what happened to my board. They claimed the server was stolen by some un-named government agency.

Upon hearing this I requested a refund of the money I just paid. My thinking being there's no reason to have this extra service if the forum is gone. They refused to honor a refund request.

A few weeks later my forum reappeared, with no mention by InvisionI of any "government agency" being involved. I was tired of dealing with them, so I told them to delete the forum. They refused.instead, they offered it to the highest bidder. Everything, the member database, e-mails, IP addresses, proprietary information, copyrighted images, all of it.

They forced me to pay an additional $300 to keep the forum for another year. I deleted everything in the forum to keep it from a future owner after my ownership expires, but they have made it clear that they will reinstall the contents of the forum next year and sell it. I intend to purchase the forum outright, have it transferred to a private server, then delete it.

How can they legally sell my board? How can they disregard a customer's wishes? How can they ignore proprietary and copyright laws?

The owners/operators of InvisionI are bullies who beat their customers up to get what they want.
