I had the misfortune of dealing with SOE's customer service when I played one of their games, in this case it was Everquest.
I started playing around the beginning of February. After approximately three months of playing I needed to cancel my subscription because of personal financial issues (medical). I was paying for the subscription to Everquest with my debit card.
When I tried to cancel my subscription I could not, the box would not clear. I looked up the problem on the 'Knowledge Database' for Everquest and based on what I read I assumed my request to cancel the subscription would take some time to process.
When I looked at my bank statement for June I saw I had been charged for May as if I had never canceled my subscription. Panicked, (not only because I had an operation the next day) I looked at my station account to see the malignant subscription was still running.
I immediately contacted SOE's customer service who DID NOT answer my question, as if it were answered by an automaton who only read the first 3 words of three sentence complaint (The date I was charged).
Due to my experiences I now go out of my way to not buy any Sony affiliated products or services. I have many acquaintances and family that I now convince never to deal with Sony.
I would earnestly suggest gamers and others considering SOE's games and services go elsewhere because of bugs in game and billing. If you have any issues with SOE please mention them.
