The battery in my 2-year-old Dell notebook PC failed. I'm not complaining about that, as I am fully aware that batteries do not last forever. I'm complaining because when I went to Dell to purchase a replacement battery, I was informed that Dell sells the batteries only in 2-packs.
A single battery costs $74.95 and a 2-pack costs twice that and I really do not need 2 batteries. This is the third notebook computer I've had and 2 years is the shortest battery life I have had on any of those notebooks. I'm being stuck with an extra battery I do not need. I will probably end up replacing the notebook PC before the 1st new battery gives out and I'll never use the third battery.
I don't mind buying 4-packs of AA-batteries because they're cheap and I'll almost certainly use all of them for something. However, I really resent being forced to by a $75 notebook battery that I will probably never use. Oh well, I guess Dell didn't want my next notebook to be a Dell.
