Deceptive Business Practices - consumer rip off

Be ware of FREE offer. There is noting free about it!

I ordered a free DVD about selling on Ebay from Eauction and was to pay only for shipping and handeling in the amount of $4.95. Apparently, imbedded in the terms and conditions, far beyond what anyone could read with precise understanding, was an agreement to authorize charges of $49.90 per month for web hosting. And I mean this was pages and pages into the terms and conditions. Far past all the stuff that you found yourself saying, sure, yes, of coarse I won't sell this information to others, etc. And that is exactly what they intended - to hide this portion. Why? Bucause no one in their right mind would agree to it otherwise!

These charges are for hosting a website for the customer, and they have also laid out language that they have no intention or obligation to help get it set up. They prey on the fact that many people have a number of chages on their statements and may not look each one over carefully. Thank goodness, I did. So they only got me for one month that I can not do anything about.

Legislators need to enact legislation to require companies like this one to clearly describe in the offer, the exact nature of what is being contracted for. And, NOT allow them too HIDE, and bury deep in the terms and conditions, that you are signing up for some service that you do not need or want.

This company is FLAT OUT taking advantage of the public.
