Counterfeit 4GB Sony Pro Duo Memory Card, Seller Still Active

I bought a 4GB Sony Pro Duo memory card on eBay from the seller ememoryliquidator, paying through PayPal. The card turned out to be a counterfeit bootleg. I confirmed this by following the steps for spotting fakes, and by calling Sony tech support, who told me the serial number is counterfeit.

I reported this to both eBay and PayPal. Neither did anything to stop the seller, who keeps selling counterfeit goods. His feedback page shows plainly that I am not the only buyer he has cheated with fake memory. At least 10 negative reviews state outright that he sells fakes, and I am sure there would be far more if buyers knew enough to recognize a fake when it arrives (most people are unaware of how much counterfeit memory is on eBay and assume that genuine memory works as poorly as what they received).

This seller moves over 1000 items a month. It appears eBay and PayPal would rather have people receive fake goods than give up the illegal money they earn as their share from him. It is a felony to sell counterfeit goods! Sharing in the proceeds from fakes is a felony too! eBay, PayPal and the seller are all breaking the law! You could argue that eBay cannot be responsible for every fake item sold on its site, but once it has been told and still does nothing, even after message after message for months, it is fair to conclude they know the law is being broken and do not care.

eBay acts as though it is above the law. Action must be taken to shut down these counterfeit memory card rackets, but they will not make an effort.
