I too was duped into purchasing a "Lifetime Membership" of MP3Downloading. It worked very well but after a time, this program was unable to access their site.
I spoke to a woman at the number listed for contact. She told me the site would no longer work and gave me another site to download a new program from. I went to that site and saw that this was a program that anyone could download for free. I made telephone contact again with the same woman. I advised her that I had paid for a lifetime membership and this was not acceptable to me. I was told the company had restarted under a different name for lifetime purchasers. The name was now 360. I was given a web address to download the new program which also worked for awhile. Now it is not working.
There is now a site also called mp3downloading that I found with a search engine. They have music downloads. It is not the same site as before but I wonder if they are the same company. I can not contact them without becoming a member, so can not advise as to the ability to do so afterwards.
I have receipts of my transaction with the original mp3downloading, as I used my credit card. Sadly it is too late to contest. These companies must be punished for their crimes
I was pleased to find this site but there must be more than us "34" or so people (that have registered) that have been ripped off. Maybe if shows such as "48 Hours" or "20/20" would do an article more people would come forward.
