Startup Essentials Con: Don't let them take Advantage of you ripoff

The beggining of March I was contacted by a representive of Startup Essentials. This represenitive lead me through a 3 hour telephone conversation that eventually lead me to believe I was partaking in a profitalbe bussiness venture.

I was told that I would get help starting my own business by starting my own website where I would sell produts that they would supply. I was lead through a main company web site and examples of present client websites, I guess ment as an example. I was then shown very sketchy online contracts that stated the requirements of my contracts and told to sign it online.

I did not know what I was signing, the product was greatly misrepresented. It took me less than a month to realize that the program I was trying to do was bogas. It took forever to get through each section of the program and way more time than it was worth. I was lead to believe that I could have my own website up in less than a month, be making at least enough money to pay the monthly charge that I would owe right away, and guidance through a program to do it.

Instead, what I got in the mail is a program that would take anyone months to go through and customer service that was very little help. I was also quoted a price of 159.99 a month raised to 170.00 or more later with added taxes that I was never told about. One conference call a week was promised and I never got one; when I called to inquire about it, I was told that the call would come back through and the call still never came.

Now I can say that I wasted my time and money and I am writing to tell other that if you have not already made a contract with this company please stay clear of them, you want nothing to do with them.

I am planing to take the following actions: send back the computer, CDs, and worksheet booklet that was sent to me with a letter stating my intentions, close the checking account that I gave them so they no longer have access to it, go through the process of hiring a lawyer to represent me, contact the Better Business Bureau, the three collection report agencies, the Oregon Attorney General (since I live in Oregon), and Federal Trade Commission with a letter informing of them of the company and situation, leave my own testimony on places like usacomplaints.com, myspace and any other place I can find in order to warn other people of their business practices, and refuse to them pay them anymore as I feel that the product given to me is not worth the money they are charging me.

I am writing this because the product I was sent did not live up to the way it was represented. The money and time I am spending on it is not worth it. This company lead me to believe that starting my own business would be easy and that I would have someone there to help me along the way.instead, what I received was a program that was confusing and long-winded, horrible customer service, and a company that does not seem to care about the people they claim to represent.

So, please take this letter and other letters like it seriously; do not get envolved with this company if you have not already.
