After cancelling webhosting through another company, I chose to have Surf Speedy host my website. Their site is put together nicely and I had read glowing reviews about them on other sites. I thought I had found a sure fire winner.
I placed my order on December 15. I received an email back with basic information on my account-one thing that stood out was that it read it would take 4-48 hours to transfer my site after my payment cleared.
My payment cleared on Dec 21 (I paid through PayPal). I had to get an authorization number from my previous host to transfer to Surf Speedy. I provided them with this information on Dec 22. After that, I received another email stating that it could take up tp 5 more days before my site would be available (what happened to 4-48 hours, as was stated in their first email?)
In the meantime, I decided to log into my account to setup my email accounts, etc while I was waiting to be able to publish the site I had built. I was unable to log into my account. I filed a complaint with tech support on Dec 20 with no results. I waited a couple of days, then filed another ticket, still no answer. After submitting a third ticket, tech support wrote back and said their sales dept. Would have to reset my log in information. This was Dec 23rd. It is now Dec 27 and I have still not heard anything back from tech support OR sales.
On Dec 26, I had had enough BS from this company and called their toll free line for tech support. The man that answered the telephone never identified himself by name and told me that I needed to file a ticket through the internet. I tried explaining to him that I had already done this multiple times and he kept saying the same thing, speaking over me the entire time I was on the line with him. Frustrated, I hung up, logged back in to the internet and filed a claim that I wanted a manager to look over my tickets. I have not heard anything back. I then wrote to cancel my account and asked for an immediate refund. I have still not heard the slightest peep from Surf Speedy and no refund has been made to my PayPal account.
The company states on their website that they offer Live Chat daily (I have tried accessing this feature for over a week and it is always turned off), they have 24/7 tech support (if it was 24/7, why has a simple complaint gone unanswered?) It is not difficult to reset login information, but apparently it is too difficult for Surf Speedy.
Please do not be fooled by their claims of wonderful support and 48 hour domain transfers.in my experience, these are both big fat lies to get you to sign up with them. I have been misled and ignored by this company for 2 weeks.
