Ripoff dishonest recruting tactics, false advertisements false promises LIES, waste of $24K Columbus

My wife and I attended the orientation at Computertraining.com in Westerville Ohio where we were told about the $50,000 a year and the demand MCSEs (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). So my wife and I met with Erin Tipman, the Computertraing.com sales person. There she told us several things that turned out to be lies.

First we were told that when I completed the course I would have my MCSE Certification.in addition to this we were told the teachers would work with us until I pass all of the seven tests. First, I would like to say that our ONE instructor Todd Harnar is the only thing I have NO complaints about. With one exception, Several times during class the sales people would come in and ask him to speak to new recruits, so he would leave the room for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Once I completed the first book 70-270 and started taking the practice tests I realized I didn't have enough time to take the tests and keep up with my reading. So I asked Todd how many people from the previous classes actually completed the course with their MCSE. His answer was Zero.in addition I spoke to a graduate who was helping as an assistant. He also told me nobody in his class graduated with their MCSE. To compound the problem there are questions on the first test that are not covered until later in the course. What I realized at this point was the Instructor has to cover the course material in a six month period of time and that was a very brisk pace. So myself and every other student was faced with the same problem, keep up on current course material or study for tests. At this point I realized I was dealing with a business rather than a school because it was very clear that ComputerTraining.com only cared about PROFIT and not the education of their students.

Second and most importantly was the consolidation of my student loans. I have previous loans thru Sallie Mae and could not have the entire $24000 thru Sallie Mae so I had to finance $12000 with another financial Institution that offered a 16% interest rate. My wife and I were told there are companies that will consolidate all student loans.in addition Erin told us several times how she consolidated all her student loans and saved thousands of dollars. When I spoke with Erin over the phone she assured me this other loan could be consolidated for the second time. Again, when I met with Erin the second time to sign my loan papers I asked her about the 16% interest rate and she said (paraphrasing)? The interest rate was just on that loan, but don't worry about that high rate. After you consolidate the loans the interest rates will be much lower. Just come see me after the course is finished and we will get the loans consolidated to lower the interest rate.? Naturally, Erin was terminated / quit before the classes even began. Now I have a loan payment of $180 per month that I can't get consolidated and a Sallie Mae loan that just gets piled on top of the others only at a higher interest rate.
Third was the loan deferment, every time I spoke with Erin I asked and was assured the loan payments could be deferred for a year AFTER completion of the course. Just like the consolidation lie the deferment of my loans was also not possible. One loan started a month after completion and the other starts six months after completion. When I spoke with Erin at the loan contract signing she told me the March start date for the payments was only the end of the deferment date and once I finished the course just call the lenders and have the loans deferred for another six months. When I completed the course and my first payments became due I called the lenders and I was told the loans could not be deferred.

The fourth lie was the Professional Employment Services. From the initial meeting between Erin my wife and me, to the orientation with William McCormick and even several times throughout the course the? Professional Employment Services was going to get us a job.

The Professional Employment Services consisted of a woman named Janelle Carlson who sent me two emails one inviting me to the video conference in class and the other asking for my resume. This was a far cry from the Mock Interviews, resume building, salary negation, one on one attention we needed to get a job.

Further more I sent six emails to Janelle and she never responded to a single one with the exception of the resume I sent her. The response was a template she wanted me to use for my resume, so apparently everybody will have the same resume.

I sent a complaint letter to Donna Clay at ComputerTraining.com and several weeks later I got a response from Gerald P. Collins stating they fulfilled their end of the agreement and good luck with my future career. I left several voicemails with him wanting to discuss his response and he is yet to return a single phone call.

I cannot comprehend how a business such as ComputerTraining.com that uses such manipulative tactics and outright lies is still allowed to practice business in this state.
