I was interested in buying a Rolex watch but, being unable to afford the genuine artlcie, I decided to go for a replica one instead. I had read several reports about scams so I researched the market.
One of the sites I logged on to was fakereviews.com. One of their recommended sites, redhotwatch.com, had the model that I wanted; a Rolex Sea Dweller, which they had for sale for $900.initally, I was going to pay by credit card and duly filled in their order form. A few days later I got an e-mail back from them stating that they had been 'duped in the past' - their phrase, not mine and could I pay using another method. Against my better judgement I chose wire transfer (as the site was a recommended one I thought that this was safe). On March 1, I transferred $900 t their bank account; they would have got the cash within a couple of days.
I expected to receive the watch by the 15th at the very latest. I waited until the end of March before I e-mailed them. They didn't reply. To cut a long story short, I ended up e-mailing Todd Tucker, the owner, about 15 times; not of which were answered. I even phone the guy up which is inconvenient from the UK, and got nowhere. I also e-mailed fakereviews complaining about one of their recommended sites. I have e-mailed them six times since last March with no luck on the reply front.
On October 28, I eventually spoke to someone called Kenny who said that he had recently taken over the business and could I e-mail him with the details of my order. This I did and his e-mail back to me said that I could expect the watch in two or three weeks. The deadline passed and no watch was received. I e-mailed him again and he e-mailed me back saying that there is some difficulty getting the watch so there will be a delay of one week.
I have e-mailed this guy six times.in the last two I said that he could send my money back. To date, February 28, I have not received either the watch or my money back. Obvious conclusion: Kenny, like Todd before him, is running a scam site. I have also told fakereveiws this and they haven't bothered to reply, which makes me suspicious.
So, if any of you are thinking of buying a replica Rolex avoid this site and treat with caution the recommended sites on the fakereviews website.
Cheers
