Complaint / Review
Bidz
Poor customer services, missing items, unavailable items, broken goods ripoff

3 problems - All with BIDZ.

Problem 1: In Dec 05 I won two diamond Earings, but to date they are listed as pending and cannot be paid for or thus cannot be sent to me. BIDZ feeble explaination: " the items appear to have been listed before and appear to have already been sold." Question: How can they do business like that? It appear from the numerous complaints I have found on the internet against BIDZ that this type of practise is done over & over & over again. And despite what it states in their small print, it is a very lousy, poor and bad business practise.

Problem 2: In Dec 05 I won and paid for a set of earrings. I further paid for international delivery via FedEx. This parcel, according to the FedEx tracking data and a phone call to FedEx, has been delivered to Newark, NJ, while my registered Bidz address clearly indicates I live in Perth, Western Australia. At no stage did I ask to have the item delivered to Newark, NJ. I do not know anyone in Newark, NJ. A phone call to FedEx revealed very little other than that FedEx followed Bidz delivery instructions for the parcel and that I should contact Bidz.

Problem 3: In Dec 05 and well after the item in problem #2, I won & paid for two items of Jewelry. 1 appears fine but one, a 2 carat tennis bracelet (diamonds, one after each other, set in 14 carat gold making up a complete bracelet) is missing a diamond. Australian Import duty was paid on the item (which was expected). Bidz customer service were immediately contacted re this problem but to date there has been no reply.

I have so far contacted Bidz via email 7 times regarding the 3 above problems and bar telling me that the item in #1 is not available, all other emails have gone unanswered.

I have further telephoned Bidz customer service on two occassions. During the first I was put on hold for 25 minutes, whilst repeatedly getting an automated message stating that my call was important to Bidz and to stay on the line, before suddenly being cut off / having the phone hung up at the Bidz end. Remember the call was at international call rates. The 2nd time I was put on hold for 15 minutes before, again the call was terminated at the Bidz end of the line.

I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against this company and am seriously considering contacting both the California Attorney General, and the Maryland Attorney General regarding the very bad, service from this company. It appears that BBB complaints, in the past, have done nothing to make this company increase their service or their customer service, and should this be my experience, I will most certainly take this matter as far as I can possibly take it, in order to ensure other innocent people due not fall victim to this companies shoddy practises.

The amount of complaints against Bidz that I've managed to find on the internet with little effort, convince me something needs to be done to stop Bidz from repeatedly providing very bad service or faulty or poor products, which borders very much on fraud or theft, without a willingness to make some sort of restitution.

Kind Regards
