I am a loyal user of Yahoo for years. But I have to report this as a huge disappointment.
I recently started my own business of operating an affiliate Web site.in order to advertise my site, I paid Yahoo Classifieds $9.95 to put on a featured ad.
I expected to receive the service of having my ad running for 30 days. However, I didn't see my ad in Yahoo Classifieds in the following days. I tried to contact Yahoo Classifieds dept by email (I couldn't find any phone contact info). I received an email response a couple days later, which stated that my ad violated Yahoo TOS (Terms of Services). My subsequent email exchanges with Yahoo revealed its policy of not giving customers a chance to fix the ad or getting a refund.
So, basically, Yahoo took my money and ran away, waving back to me saying "Thank you for the money, but it was at our mercy to decide whether or not you would receive any service."
The following is the final email that I received after I requested a refund (thanks Yahoo for telling me that they have such a take-the-money-and-run policy):
