Purchased DVD Copyware3 (DVD archival software) by RedXpress from a large and reputable computer retail outlet (who I will not name here, as they are not at fault).
The CD key included by the manufacturer DOES NOT WORK. It returns the message "Key Invalid - Please Re-Enter", even when it is typed precisely as it appears in the retail packaging.
Not being computer illiterate, I know my computer exceeds their recommended hardware for operation. Rebooted computer 3 times, retyped CD key 10 times (total), removed all anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware and other programs from operating environment, and still the product will not install. This is an original purchase, retail package opened by me and no one else, and not a clone or someone else's software (I have the purchase receipt!)
Product replaced with identical item by the retailer, and again the problem persists. Key Invalid - Please Re-Enter. For crying out loud: it is the key provided by the manufacturer!
Only way to contact manufacturer (www.redxpress.com) is by WWW (I think they are located in the United Kingdom), and you have to register on their site first. Did that. No response to my request for assistance (their autoreply email categorized my complaint as "Low Priority").
Gave it a day. Appended complaint.
Still no reply.
The lack of response, and the way RedXpress has intentionally made it difficult to contact them (no phone, no address, nothing other than their web page) presents the consumer with the image of a company that does not care at all once you buy their product.
While the retailer has been helpful, their policies do not allow refunds on opened software (of course I gotta open it to use it, but it won't install!).
A TRUE RIP-OFF IN EVERY SENSE OF THE TERM. I guess this british software firm does NOT care for users in the great U S of A.
