I came into contact with Nuevo Mundo Corporation AKA Hector I. Chavez (Director) and arranged a deal involving the purchase of 130 ipod minis. The ipods were to be shipped directly to my customers from his suppliers. I made the purchase for a total of $14880.00 via bank wire transfer. After 1 month of waiting I started to notice inconsitencies with what Hector was telling me regarding all of the delays.
First off he said that he had worked with his suppliers for a year and that they were reputable. This gave me confidence that he could deliver. His first excuse was that he had reached the maximum purchasing limit & he would no longer be able to provide the ipods I had allready purchased. I then asked for a refund. He told me he would fulfill my request and refund me "promptly." It has now been three weeks & he just recently emailed all of his customers saying he was defrauded by two other companies: SG Gadgets (AKA Singapore Gadgets) & Hooahh Wholesale Inc.
In the email he states that he had just met with these companies August 2nd and arranged a deal. Yes that is right. This was lie number one. Remember, he clearly told me that his suppliers were trusted and that he had used them for nearly a year. He also claims that during a 60 day period of time, he had sent SG Gadgets $300K & the whole time they WERE NOT delivering! How irresponsable is that? What's worse is that he was sending his customers money and not his own! If it were me I would have stopped sending scammers money much, much sooner than that. It did not state that he was scammed for iPods - only PSP's.in my opinion, I don't think he ever sent my portion of the money to any suppliers. He is probably keeping it as an insurance policy of some sorts.
Another reason why I am writing this report is because Hector told me that the funds were available and I was "only sending money to the bank." since that statement he has changed his story and he actually did send the money. It is apparent that he lied to me on more than one occasion.
When I confronted him via email about these inconsistencies he began to degrade me by calling me a whiner, that I was trying to be a "detective", & to be a man. Wouldn't anyone be persistently upset if they sent a so-called reputable company $15K without anything to show for? I have never been so mistreated by a supplier in my life and I have dealt with many of them.
Now he is saying that he is not going to refund me unless he is refunded. I have allready started to refund my customers and my business is on the brink of extinction. He claims to run an ethical business. However, from my experience Nuevo Mundo is nowhere near ethical. He took on a high risk business relationship with an overseas company. He was careless and showed irresponsability with his customers money.
It is not right that I have to suffer the consequences for Nuevo Mundo's inept disregard for his customers interest. The bottom line is that he owes me $14880.00. Whatever you do, make sure they have their items in stock before you buy from them. They may just send your money to a scammer too.
If anyone can help me to pursuade Nuevo Mundo to refund my money please contact me. Also if you have been the victim of Nuevo Mundo's blatant irresponsability get in touch so we can come up with a game plan on how to combat this. Thanks.
