Legend of Mir (http://www.legendofmir.net) is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online game) created by a Korean company named WEMADE Entertainment.
Their beta service started in the summer of 2001 and during that time they promised that when they would become a pay-to-play service that there would be better customer support, alot of updates, one big update in december and the lag would go away.
Whenever the pay-to-play service did start, all of the customer support pretty much disappeared, there are very few updates, the december update never happened and the lag is still there.
Accounts are constantly hacked, GameMasters are nothing but regular players that like to help their friends cheat, whenever there is a scheduled update it's never released until like another 3 months later.
I think they rarely update it so that they can just waste people's money on hopes that it will actually be updated. The "big December update" is now supposed to happen sometime this year but it will be beta.
Therefore, people pay-to-play a game thats never updated, and is still actually in beta and if you paid for a year of it thinking that it was actually a promising game you cant even get a refund.
The only reason they still get new customers is because they arent aware of how crappy the game actually is.
