If you are a graphic designer, programmer, coder, copywriter or web designer and you are contacted by Jet Powered Group of Fort Worth, do not do any work for them! They DO NOT PAY!
Jet Powered Group was a listed employer with Guru.com and they would have contractors bid on a job, get their contact information from the bid, cancel the bid, then contact the professional directly. This is exactly what they did to me.
I was contacted by Jet Powered Group on the 21st of February to do design work for them on the 3rd of March. I went and did the work for them on the 3rd of March and did follow up work for them on the 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 29th of March. I also did work for them on the 14th of April.
Here it is now the 19th of July and I still have not received payment for work completed despite numerous emails and phone calls.
Every week it is something new from them, accounting was outsourced, lost a client, have a meeting, and at the end of it they keep saying the same thing, "we are going to be sending checks out next week".
I have been in contact with numerous graphic designers and programmers through the D/FW metroplex and there are currently about 14 of us that they have done this to. There are many of us out here who are trying to make a decent living, but Freelance does not mean free.
William Tincup is the owner and the contact individuals are Florian Pauly, Kevin Richardson, Tara Tibbetts, Lindsay Daniels, and Charles Bedard. You would think speaking with that many people, we would be paid. Not so!
I am still looking to get this amount paid and any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
The upside of this is when Guru.com was contacted, they cancelled all of Jet Powered Accounts.
Again, if you are a designer, coder, programmer, or web designer, do not do any work for Jet Powered Group of Fort Worth.
