When dealing with netzero I strongly advise you to contact better busines bureau ahead of time!!!
I was moving out of my apartment and tried to cancel netzero. On their website you will find an 800 number. While on hold they will tell you to use the website (goose chase). Call the nuber and the only way to get a hold of a person is to select the option for new service. Otherwise, you may hold for 30 minutes.
In June:
"I would like to cancel my netzero"..."Okay sir, what seems to be the problem?" "I don't want netzero any more" ".. Is there a technical problem?"...".. No, I would just like to cancel?" "Okay sir let me put you on hold for a moment while I process this"... About 5 minutes later " Okay sir I'm going to give you three months free" Out of frustration I say whatever and that was that.
In September:
Netzero bill on credit card statement. I call back and go through the same thing. I tell them I don't want three free months and they won't budge so I get angry and argumentative and never agreed to the three months again...
In December:
I notice I have been billed yet again, but do to work, school, and the hollidays I'm stressed and put it aside and forget...
In February:
Another bill on my statement. It's been eight months since I lived in that apart and had that phone # and line. So I call and have to select new service. I was not friendly.in fact, I had to be a very nasty and rude and they transfered me around to several people. Of course I had to yell the same story to every person (each of them seemed used to it) I demanded my money back and they would not give it to me, but my kicking and screaming was what it took to cancel the account. I then reported them to the better business bureau and requested my money back.
In June:
One year later, I receive a credit on my credit card statement for the total amount that netzero stole from me. Thank you BBB and screw you netzero!
