When I bought McAfee antivirus a year ago I had so much trouble downloading it, I gave up, bought another product and considered it a loss.
Now it's a year later, and I received an Email from them [originating from Japan by the way]. I was informed that the service was automatically being renewed, and the money would be taken out of my credit account they had on file. I imediately send an Email with no response x2. I called my bank who said once these places get your info in their databank it's almost impossible to get it out of there.
No other company ever did that to me before.
I finially got an online tech and assurance my acct would be credited. Apparently when I originally bought the product, and was required to click the "end user agreement", I was agreeing to automatic renewal.
The problem is, I had to jump through hoops to get my own money back; when I wasn't even using the product I had bought a year ago. I want others to be alerted to this as it is unethical at the very least.
