AOL Advice needed Lafayette

In October i received a free AOL internet CD and subscribed to it giving my debit card number. I totally forgot that it was one month free service and used it till December.

Anyway, In November i lost my debit card and got it cancelled and got a new one with a new number. So, they couldnt bill my account and i had no way of finding out that i was going to get charged.

Recently, i started getting calls from AOL saying that i needed to pay for 3 months of service after which they suspended my account. First i was angry but then figured out it was my fault, so i decided to pay it the next time they called.

Yesterday, a lady named Kim called me saying i owed a total of about $95. Just before i was going to give my debit card number, i asked her what the monthly fee was and she said about $23 which over 3 months doesnt add up to $95 to which she said i was charged for 4 months and not 3. I got pissed off and asked her when the last time i logged on was to which she replied December 18th. I told her i would agree to pay for the months i used the service to which she said i had to pay for all the 4 months. She talked very rudely to me and when iasked to speak to the manager and she said he was not in and when i said to contact me when the manager was in, she said " Do you think the manager will actually talk to you for $95?". I replied till i talked to the manager i would not pay up. She said a cold goodbye and i hug up.

Now for my question. Kim mentioned that the collections office would call me everyday till i pay up and that this would count as bad credit history. I am a student at university and dont know too much about credit history and wanted to know if this was a problem. The debit card from my first bank was a Masterard and the one from my new bank is Visa. Also, the first bank didn't have my SSN, so is there a way they can link the 2 up? I am also afraid that once they have my debit card number they will charge me for all the months through now. What should i do? I live in the dorms and I leave in May of this year, so the calling isnt a problem. But i'm just plain scared of AOL!!!
