Subscribed to Shareaza "unlimited" download on March 16, billed $48 UPFRONT. There may be some tiny print to explain this but I was not aware until I was already a member. The way they present it, you pay $1 PER MONTH. Big difference.
On April 18, a further $49.95 was deducted by CHK CRD NEW HEALTHY SAV.!!
No way to contact Shareaza. The e-mail address provided sent my messages back unread (mailer demon).
On this anti-fraud site I found the number for Healthy Sav (ings) and called 1-646-495-8107. The customer service rep who said his name was Steve said I had been charged the $49.95 for some subscription I was not aware of but that I could cancel and be reimbursed within 15 days. Remains to be seen, but he sounded legit.
No way to get recredited for the original $48; Steve kept giving me the line: "Four years of unlimited downloads."
Don't subscibe to a shareware site if you have dial-up. Takes too long and without top audio capability the sound is tinny. I heard LimeWire is free.
BTW, AmSouth was great about reimbursing me for fraudulent charges incurred on a previous occasion.
