I subscribed to MacLife online because the hard copy magazine was interesting. I opened my subscription and it immediately shunted me to a promotion for TECH magazine and allowed me no way out unless I subscribed to a trial issue. I didn't want a trial subscription to TECH. I wanted to read MacLife. If I close out the screen and re-enter, it goes to the trial subscription. I sent an inquiry to MacLife asking how I work around this. No response. I to the App Store and enter MacLife. It immediately shunts me to TECH trial subscription.
I assumed MacLife is a legitimate magazine. However I am forced to believe the online version is a snake oil con game to sell other things. My final solution is to delete the app entirely. Of course I'll be out the money I already paid, but who knows what else they are doing?
I'd advise anyone to think multiple times before falling for their online subscription. A fix to the problem doesn't seem to exist. I guess in their marketing plan why should it? They already have your money.
