August.
We took our beloved dog, Bear to this hack house for an overnight stay after a bone plating surgery. She was stable but had taken a little longer than expected to come out of the anesthesia so we wanted her in a 24hr facility.
Upon our arrival she was taken to the triage area and seen by a Dr. Frank Fasanella. Dr. Fasanella came back to speak to us after examining her and told us that her blood pressure was dangerously low and that her stomach is distended which can indicate that it had recently "turned" possibly during surgery. Dr. Fasanella then immediately started talking about how much it would cost to treat her. We interrupted him, with impatient concern, saying we didn't care about the money, what were our options?
Dr. Fasanella stated that if her stomach has turned it could have engaged her spleen or killed off some tissue which would eventually make her septic and kill her and he would need to do an Xray to find out.
