Rips Off Patrons Don't be fooled by their supposed quality facilities and introductory offers

To Everyone,
Getting exercise is important, but it can be hazardous to your wallet with the tricky contracts and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) clauses most gyms like Gold's are pushing on unsuspecting customers. Don't be fooled by their supposed quality facilities and introductory offers.

They will probably insist you pay first and last month's dues up front, don't do it. When your last month comes, they will have charged you for it anyway, even when you followed their procedures and provided 30 days notice. If you happen to notice the double charge, they will try their sleaziest lines to make you feel it is your fault, don't fall for it. They will continue to debit your account until eternity if they can get away with it, and once you do notice it will be impossible to get a refund. They will sick you on Cat Young, who acts unprofessionally and will not let you speak to her superior. She will call you every name in the book hoping she can intimidate you so she can keep your money.

Another thing they won't tell you: you will need to provide *2* forms of written notice to cancel with them. 1 for cancelling the membership, and 1 for cancelling the EFT from your acct. They will ask you to fill out a form at their gym, it only cancels your membership. If you don't send the certified letter revoking their privledges to debit your bank account, they will keep charging you. The contract states you have to provide notice to revoke debits from your account via certified mail, but it does not list the address to send it. You'll find the address in an unrelated area of the form, several paragraphs below in microscopic print.

In short, these contracts are chock full of hidden costs, once you get into them, they will rip you off and make it literally impossible to get your money back. They will try their sleaziest games to make you feel responsible for their scams.in short, don't do business here. They make their money off of misleading contracts with their patrons.

If you too, were affected by the ripoff's at Gold's, please respond to this thread. I am considering a URL to raise awareness and possibly pursue legal issues if there is a big enough audience.
