My daughter recently visited LCFP for a physical so that she could get her prescription for anxiety medication refilled. She also had a chronic cough and cold which she has had for a few weeks. She was greeted with coldness, indifference and a general rudeness by the physician. She left with a feeling of hopelessness because the physician showed little concern regarding her health status and questioned the need for her anxiety medication which had previusly been prescribed by another colleague at LCFP. My daughter had requested that we change to a female physician from her previous Doctor because she was uncomfortable in his presence. This was the first time the female physician had seen her. She does not want to return to this practice because of this experience. Perhaps the "bedside manner" of these Physicians has eroded due to the high volume of patients that they see every day or that they feel financial pressure to get them in and get them out as quickly as possible. Whatever the reason the environment was not warm and welcoming the way you would hope it to be. We will be changing to another family physician in the near future because of the experience at this practice.
