St John's Health System in the Springfield MO area is well known to me to engage in shifty billing practices, which is both ridiculous and disgusting.
I'm sure they don't need the money enough to be double-billing seniors, and disabled people and then threatening them if they don't pay the amount that they don't even owe.
Come on St. John's! You have the potential to be a well-respected organization in the community. Do you not know how fast word travels in this town?
St. John's has never been known to me to make a so-called billing error in a customer's favor, but practically everyone who does business with them is eventually going to be billed for something they don't owe and then have to try to get St. John's to admit that they don't owe it. Today I got a double bill from St. John's for an office visit which is clearly documented that I had paid for in full five months ago. Who needs that when they've already got a medical problem serious enough to need to see a physician? The two things most Ozarkers can't stand are a liar or a thief! Any senior or disabled person who finds themself being financially exploited by a health care provider doesn't have to try to fight them alone. If they send you an obviously fraudulent bill, just hotline them to the Missouri Dept. Of Health and Senior Services at 1-800-392-0210. Let somebody else go to bat with you.
