Deceptive Practices and Poor Customer Satisfaction in

I came to Power of Fitness to explore about the amenities of the club to see if it fits my needs. When I say no to the membership, Bri-the representative of Power of Fitness, gave me the option to try it out for 5 days free and informed me that I could cancel after the 5 days if I did not feel it was for me. I was told I had to sign the "price guaranteed contract" as part of this free trials. I signed it believing it was just that and trusted Bri who stated I had until 5/26/10 to cancel. I tried it out ONLY for 3 days and cancelled as instructed by Bri by 5/26/10.

The manager Daniella told me then it was too late. She informed me that the "price guaranteed contract" I signed was an actual 18 month contract and it dated 5/25/10, not 5/26/10 as I was told by Bri to cancel. She was quite rude in our discussion re. The misinformation I received by Bri. I showed her the sale credit receipt dated 5/26/10 but she still insisted that the "contract" stated 5/25/10. She then told me "Too bad. You are now a member whether you like it or not".

I made 2 other attempts to talk to the regional manager Tiffany, (who I understand now that other also reported her as being an "extortionist" from Chuck's report #621536), explaining to her re. Bri's mis-information and the confusion about the 2 documents stating 2 different dates. I even offered to forfeit the enrollment fee, first and last month fees as a compensation to cancel the "membership" under my name even though I had not use the club at all. She still refused to cancel. The deceptive practices of Power of Fitness of stating one thing and deceptively misinform the public and then refused to take some responsibility in the matter is NOT something I would look for in a health club. I read all other usacomplaints.com and agreed with them all. The staff at Power of Fitness only cares about the next payment, not about being fair, or about being trustworthy which are what will build a long lasting relationships between its owers and members.in addition, I do agreed that they are also rude once you sign that dotted line, a complete change from the initial meeting. I made one last attempt in requesting to speak to the owner and Tiffany refused, stating "I already spoke with the owner and you will not need to go beyond me, because I am the regional director".

I hope others will join me in speaking out about their ripoffs and I hope Power of Fitness will realize the important of building a fair and honest relationships with their members, instead of "conning" members into a membership as stated by other reports as well. I also hope that Power of Fitness realizes that the effect of these practices only decrease their credibility, not increase. Perhaps, it is time that Power of Fitness learn to train their staff in giving correct information with courtesy and that verbal agreement is just as important as written agreement.
