Complaint / Review
UCLA School of Dentistry Venice Clinic
Unprofessional services

I have sceduled two appointments in the month of May & I still have not been seen by a Doctor or Dentist. The 1st appt was scheduled & confirmed for 05/14/10 for 1:30pm & I was called & asked to come in just hours before the appt even after I received a confirmation phone call. The appt rescheduling was done on such short notice, by phone that I had no other choice then to reschedule getting a 2nd appt for 05/28/10 for 3:30pm. I was called & asked to reschedule that appt as well to 1:00pm which I was unable to do considering I had already gotten approval to be absent from work for this scheduled dental appt. When calling the office for assistance I've been placed on hold for as long as 23 minutes just to speak to someone about the appt rescheduling. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or office manager I was placed on hold yet again, never getting the opportunity to speak to anyone. I commuted from 1000 Oaks to Venice for the May 28th appt. I got behind schedule as much as 15 minutes because of holiday traffice, (I guess), & when I walked thru the door I was told I could not be seen. Once again I asked for a supervisor & sat for over 25 minutes before someone appeared at the window that was no help at all, wouldn't give me her name or managerial capacity. I've already started paying for services & it appears I will have to start all over somewhere else meaning paying for what I've already paid for @ UCLA. During all the rescheduled appointments I've had two extractions that I've literally had to go elsewhere & have done due to the pain I was enduring. I chose the UCLA School of Dentistry because they carry such an impecable reputation. What medical/dental establishment puts a cash paying patient on hold for almost 30 minutes? What medical/dental establishment doesn't pick up the phone & answer questions during normal business hours? What medical/dental establishment takes 26 x-rays & basically doesn't let you get in to see the dentist to discuss the x-rays? What business refuses to give the names and/or number of superiors when asked? I've been told that the L. Cheng, Director of the Venice Clinic would be calling me. I still have not received one phone call about the unprofessional, unfair treatment i've received from ucla. I called again today, Gladys answered the phone, Gladys told me my rescheduled appointment would be on July 14th! Another month & a half away. Gladys didn't bother giving me a time just a date. I had to call back & ask. Horrible customer service, unfair treatment & unprofessional behavior is all you're going to get when you become a patient of the World Renouned UCLA School of Dentistry.
