I was online and an ad popped up for the Acai Berry product. I wasn't sure if it was safe to click on the pop-up add therefore I typed in the web address and went directly to the site which was www.acaiberry.com. Well there were actually two ads, one for acai berry and the other for total cleanse. The add says that for best results you should get both products. Well like a fool I did order both products. I actually paid the 9.95 shipping and handling for the total cleanse which arrived a day late. I'm not sure if that was a rip off b/c I did receive the product and was only charged the 9.95 so far but when i called the number that i was given to cancel I got a busy signal.
Now I began to feel like it was a scam so I called to check my account and what do you know. Some company by the name of Fit Factory charged my card 29.95 twice. Now before ordering the product I did read the fine line print which basically said that you had 14 days to cancel and then you would incur charges. I recall them mentioning a 29.95 charge and a 89.31 charge.
Well it hadn't even been 10 days and this other company had charged those two fees. Well I immediately called my bank and cancelled my card and advised them that I didn't authorize those charges. Good thing I caught it before they attempted to charge more.
Of course I was pissed so I called the one number from the ad that actually worked which was 1-877-350-8480 and I spoke with Dexter who tried to brush me off on the Fit Factory company. I told him the same story and he said I should call them cause they were a separate company.
While I had him on my house phone I dialed the number given on my cell phone and I put it on speaker phone so that he could feel stupid when he heard the busy signal I got when dialing the number he had given me. I asked for a manager and he said there wasn't one available but if there was he would say the same. I told him that I could care less about this other company b/c I didn't go to their site and order anything so I was holding Acai Berry Co. Responsible b/c I gave them my card info. He offered to extend my free trial which was pointless b/c I never even received the pills and was never charged the 3.95. I continued to complain and he said he would pass the message along to their corporate. I asked for the corporate address and guess what? I looked it up of course and it gave me an article about being scammed.
So those who read this PLEASE beware of these people. I mean luckily I was able to stop it before they charged a big lump sum but for those who have been fooled like me I would advise you to immediately cancel your card and order a new one.
