A week ago I had the Drs. Office call in prescriptions for my fathers meds knowing that he had only a weeks supply left. When my brother went to pick them up he was told that prior authorization was needed. When I called the Pharmacy they claimed that they had faxed the Drs. Office the week before, but had never received the authorization. When I spoke with the Drs. Office they said they had not received anything. Since I have never had a problem with the Drs. Office, but have had other issues with this pharmacy I know that the problem lies with them. There is a lack of follow through regarding medications and an obvious lack of caring from the Pharmacists in this particular CVS. When I watch the ad for CVS showing Pharmacists going the extra mile for their customers I find it ironic and see it as false advertising. I might add as well that when my brother was in the store he saw two elderly customers being turned away without their meds d/t insurance problems. According to their false ad the Pharmacist would have done everything in their power to get whatever they needed. After I spoke with the Drs. Office the situation was resolved within three hours. CVS should be paying me for doing their job! It was not my job to check with the Drs. Office to see if they had received the fax, CVS should have done that and it should have been done days ago. I am a Nurse and if I did my job the way they do theirs everyone would die! There is a need to follow through and check did they get the fax etc.
